Medical Ephemera

As part of the Typographic Hub at the University of Birmingham Nicky McNaney and Tracy Allanson-Smith exhibited work for a two-day conference sponsored by the Baskerville Society, the Bibliographical Society, and the Centre for West Midlands History: ‘The Beauty of letters: text, type and communication in the eighteenth century’. Six original screen-prints entitled ‘Medical ephemera of the eighteenth century’ explore the curious nature of ledgers, quacks, recipes, prescriptions, weights and measurements.
